Groundwater Dewatering and Water Well

Groundwater control and dewatering are methods adopted to ensure stable and workable conditions so that excavation and construction can take place in safe condition. Well points are basically shallow wells to provide versatile groundwater control. A deep well consists of a borehole fitted with a slotted liner and an electric submersible pump. Deep wells are installed around the perimeter of an excavation to lower the groundwater level and maintain a safe and dry working condition. Basement dewatering and waterproofing remove and prevent water from entering the basement of a structure. Dewatering through sand blanket for surcharging purpose is also used to accelerate the consolidation of the improved ground beneath.

Construction of water wells is carried out to assess groundwater in underground aquifers as a supplementary and economical resource.
